New MMA Organization, Rebel FC, Aspires to be Premier Organization in Asia

A new Asian Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) organization, Rebel FC, is gunning towards establishing themselves as a top-class fighting promotion.

MMA is currently dominated by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) internationally, and by OneFC in the Asian circuit.

However the CEO of Rebel FC, Justin Leong, is looking to break the current monopolies of the fight game and being a rival to the premier organizations as well.

In a recent interview with Asia Sports Network, Leong talked about Rebel FC and about the organization's future.

Rebel FC is an Asian-based MMA company that is operated by Pure Heart Entertainment. Other than delivering MMA action in Asia, one of Rebel FC's goals is to promote local amateur talent from all regions of Asia.

He says that Asian fighters do not have many places to go to prepare for the professional stages.

Furthermore, according to their website, their focus will be returning to the entertainment roots of the sport as they zone in on the, "resonating narrative of the fighters, the will of the fans, and the thrill of Asia's most time honored tradition."

Leong stresses this fact. He says that other than fighting action, fighters are encouraged to have extravagant entrances.

"We like to present ourselves and our fighters in the best, and most entertaining light possible," Leong said.

They currently do events in Singapore, but starting 2015, they will look to operate in different parts of Southeast Asia. Leong and Rebel FC have only done a couple of shows, with both attended by thousands of people.

Rebel FC currently has a varied roster of international fighters, with some hailing from Brazil, Australia, Korea, Finland, Philippines, and America.

The most noteworthy fighter they have is Will Chope, who enjoyed a brief stint with the UFC after being released suddenly.
