Sony announced Monday its online multiplayer for all PlayStation 4 games will be free this coming weekend as part of a special promo.
Players can have the free games starting Friday, September 26 at 12:01 AM PDT. The promo ends on Sunday, September 28 at 11:59 PM PDT.
PlayStation Plus subscription, which is US$50 a year, isn't needed to participate in the free multiplayer weekend and to play any number of games with your friends.

On its PlayStation Blog, Sony said gamers can play the multiplayer modes for games like Diablo III, Destiny, Madden NFL 15 and FIFA 15. Note the free multiplayer weekend applies to all PS4 games only.
Aside from playing PS4 titles online, a PS Plus subscription lets players access free games every month and offers discounts on digital content.
What more interesting is that PS Plus subscription can be used across PS4, PS3, and PlayStation Vita.
PlayStation 3 doesn't require a PS Plus subscription for online multiplayer. In June 2013, PS4 required a PS Plus due to the additional investment Sony had to make on the network side of the console.
So, players just need to wait for the weekend to enjoy Sony's special promo.
