EA Sports has launched a free update to versions of NHL 15 for the PS4 and Xbox One. The free updates include certain modes and features.
The new free update (the first two will add content missing from the current-gen console versions) is exactly what EA outlined earlier in September.

It introduces the Playoff mode that lets gamers play offline and playoff-style tournaments, and coach feedback in Be a Pro mode.
The complete changes to NHL 15 for Xbox One and PS4 are the following:
Ultimate Team changes: Updated store layout, new animations will be added for items, and the edit lines screen will be improved.
Stars of the game: The end of a game in any mode will be marked with its three best players (and their stats) being highlighted.
Coach feedback in Be a Pro mode: While staying on the bench, the coach offers the players tips and feedback.
Playoff mode: An offline tournament mode for up to 16 teams will be added.
In August, NHL 15 didn't include some content present in the last-gen versions.
When players had the chance to get the game via EA access, more content was absent. This prompted the company to outline its plans for the post-release updates that add some of this content.
The free update, however, is still missing the ability to draft players in a GM mode and Online Team Play mode.
EA Sports will still work on future updates. NHL 15 for the PS4 and Xbox One is now available for download.
