Apple's success continues as it posted double digits during the first weekend of the iPhone 6 series. The company sold more than 10 million iPhone 6 units, which indicate strong demands and independence from China--the world's largest phone market.
Apple CEO Tim Cook even noted that the sales figures could have gotten up if the company had more iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus models available. Analysts predicted Apple achieving the 10-millionth mark during its first weekend of sales. This is after the company posted 4 million preorder units on its opening day last September 12.

Apple shares also went up to $100.98 Monday afternoon. Accoridng to Piper Jaffray & Co. analyst Gene Munster, the iPhone 6 performance may exceed Wall Street's first-quarter revenue expectations by 9 percent more. Munster shared that earnings per share expectations should also exceed 12 percent.
"Despite the supply chain constraints around the iPhone 6 Plus and tightness around certain models of the iPhone 6, we believe (Monday's) strong print demonstrates that Apple executed extremely well in the face of severe supply constraints," Brian White, analyst for Cantor Fitzgerald, said in a research note.
The iPhone 5 model only recorded 2 million units sold during its first-day preorder two years ago. The handset was sold in 10 countries.
"While our team managed the manufacturing ramp better than ever before, we could have sold many more iPhones with greater supply and we are working hard to fill orders as quickly as possible," Cook explained in the company's statement.
The iPhone 5c and the iPhone 5s sold a total of 9 million units in the previous year. The handsets were distributed in 11 countries, including China.
The sucess of the iPhone 6 is further supported because Apple has not been able to sell in China due to regulatory issues. The high demand for iPhone 6 prompted Apple to issue a statement notifying that some users may have to wait until November to get their units.
