Google and HTC Nexus 9 Tablet Release Favor Both Companies

Google and HTC have formed a partnership for the new 9-inch Nexus tablet because of its shaky relationship with rival tech giant Samsung. Google picked HTC to make their Nexus tablet in order to benefit from the diversification of suppliers, as well as its reliance on Samsung.

Google reportedly thinks that Samsung is becoming too powerful in the smartphone market, and Google is not pleased that Samsung smartwatches are not operating on Android operating systems.

This is not the first time that Google and HTC have worked alongside each other to create a Nexus device. The first Nexus smartphone was built by HTC, but because of bad marketing and other reasons, Google switched to Samsung for the next batches.

Although Google switched, HTC did not stop trying to create innovative devices like the HTC One M8. This device has been gaining popularity among Android users, and may be one of the reasons that Google partnered up with HTC for the new Nexus tablet.

The second partnership between Google and HTC is beneficial to both parties because Google has now broadened its supplier base, which means that no supplier can have leverage over them. It is also important for Google to diversify away from Samsung because Samsung is slowly building up its Tizen operating system which will not only counter Google's mobile OS, but also home automation.

This is because Tizen has a flexible architecture that home appliances, mobile devices, and automobiles can run on. HTC is benefiting because its smarphone sales have not been up to par, which is why entering the tablet market is good.

With this move, Google is obviously continuing to secure a good supplier base in order to counter Apple's moves with the recent launches of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, along with press releases regarding security and privacy concerns.
