"The Crossing" talks about the love stories of three pairs of lovers during 60 years starting in the 1940s. Director Woo revealed that the reason of directing his movie is to express love to his wife. "When I was directing movies in Hollywood, some white friends asked me who my current wife was. I said my wife is still the same woman with the same face but with a little bit more wrinkles. They were shocked and feel impossible," Director Woo said.
Mr. and Mrs. Woo are still very sweet after they've been married for almost 40 years. Huang disclosed that Director Woo may look so bossy at work, but he was so gentle and nice to Mrs. Woo; he would share and pick up food for her.
"Love is eternally unchangeable. I would like to shoot this love to a love story. It is necessary to have this kind of movies, especially in this society," said Director Woo.
There will be two parts of the movie. The first part will be screened starting on December 2nd this year; the second part will be released in May 2015.
"There are three different love stories in different times. I feel like they could not be done in one movie," Director Woo explained, saying he decided to make it two parts before starting shooting.
There are more than 20 movie stars from China, Japan and Korea participating in the movie. Director Woo thanked the excellent performances of all actors and actresses and said they all have done a great job.
