Recently, an online auction of airplanes on Taobao.com, a Chinese language web site for online shopping, has attracted wide attention. There are 6 airplanes available in the auction, including helicopters and light sport aircrafts. The lowest starting price is RMB 1 Yuan. The highest price reaches RMB 16.8 million Yuan.
It is obvious that some business people have already turned to the private airplane market. , who is from the city of Wenling in Zhejiang and has long been paying close attention to the airplane industry, is also one of them. Cai Gangjun revealed during the interview that, when he went abroad, he found there were a lot of small airports in countries such as the US and Australia. It was common to see people flying airplanes. Therefore, he believed the private airplane market in China would be quite promising. "There are a lot of rich people and people who want to buy airplanes in China," said Cai Gangjun.
Cai Gangjun spent two years on a research of China's private airplane market. "I talked with some bosses. They said they would like to buy private airplanes if it was allowed by relevant policies and their safety could be ensured," said Cai Gangjun.
Inspired by the market research, Cai Gangjun began to accomplish his plan of opening an Airplan 4S store. In August, 2012, with the registered capital of RMB 10 million Yuan, the Zhejiang Rongsheng Airplane Sales & Services Co. Ltd. registered by Cai Gangjun was officially established, after getting the approval from Wenling Administration for Industry and Commerce. Cai Gangjun's company became the first private airplane sales company in Zhejiang.
Recently, Cai Gangjun gained the commercial constructive land use right with a bid price of RMB 21.5 million Yuan during the bidding in Wenling. According to the local Land and Resources Department, the land will be used for private airplane sales and service.
Currently, Cai Gangjun is now preparing for the opening of the Airplane 4S store next year. Cai Gangjun introduced that the store would mainly sell small private airplanes whose prices would range from RMB 1 million Yuan to 10 million Yuan. The targeting customers will be business people such as bosses in private enterprises.
"There have already been 10 potential customers who are willing to buy my airplanes," said Cai Gangjun. He found out some bosses in private enterprises showed great interest in private airplanes.
It is learned that although purchasing sources are available, it remains difficult to fly private airplanes. People have to first obtain airworthiness certificate for the airplane and pilot's licenses, then get the land permit and certified flying plan.
According to Cai Gangjun, the annual maintenance fee of a private airplane will be 10% of the original price.
