Hundreds of students from several Denver high schools have boycotted their classes for the third day on Wednesday to attend a march against the curriculum reform proposed by a reportedly conservative-led school board.
Several hundreds of students from six high schools in Jefferson County carried out a demonstration of civil disobedience against the proposal to direct history classes' focus on patriotism, citizenship, and respect for authority. The students were seen participating on rallies held along the streets of the county.

Students chanted their wishes for the school board to leave their curriculum and teachers alone, and waved placards condemning the proposed reform with one saying "There is nothing more patriotic than protest."
"I don't think my education should be censored. We should be able to know what happened in our past," 17-year-old Ralston Valley High School student Tori Leu stated.
The protests, which began last week and continued through Wednesday, were organized via word of mouth and social media as students claim that their parents and teachers have shown their support of the protest.
The protested proposal entails having instruction materials to portray only the positive aspects of the country and its tradition.
It would also allow the school board create a committee to ensure that the materials "promote citizenship, patriotism, essentials and benefits of the free-market system, respect for authority and respect for individual rights" and should not "encourage or condone civil disorder, social strife or disregard of the law."
The proposal, submitted by Julie Williams who is part of the board's conservative majority, has not been decided upon yet as the voting was put on hold last week.
Conflicts have been increasing in Colorado's second biggest school district since the students and teachers have decided to repulse against the newly selected predominantly conservative school board leaders last year.
The community members are also not happy with an evaluation-based system for awarding raises to educators.
No student was punished following the disobedience as newly-appointed Schools' Superintendent Dan McMinimee spoke with some students and offered more discussions on the issue.
