Country singer Jason Aldean has just proposed to American Idol alum Brittany Kerr during the West Coast leg of his "Burn It Down" Tour.

The two first got together when Aldean was married to his then-wife Jessica Ussery. The two were photographed in September 2012 making out in a bar.

After the controversial photographs reached the public, Aldean apologized for his behavior on social media and admitted that he had "screwed up". He said that he just had a little bit too much to drink that night.

"I ultimately ended up embarrassing my family and myself. I'm not perfect, and I'm sorry for disappointing you guys. I really appreciate being able to work through this privately with my family and for all your continued support," he stated.

The following month after the kissing incident broke out, Aldean shared with E! News that he was working out his marital issues with Ussery, who he had met when he was still in high school. Aldean asked the public to respect their privacy as they tried to save their marriage.

However, a year later, the couple decided to call it quits. They have two children together.

On the other hand, Aldean and Kerr made their official debut as a couple in the 2014 CMT Awards in Nashville which occured earlier this year.

Aldean has previously shared with Billboard magazine that he has been tired of the criticisms he has received over the last two years and, would like to move on from the controversy. 

Stating that sharing his private life with the papers has been extremely difficult, Aldean continued, "When I finally go get enough of it and say something, every newspaper grabs it. And I'm not trying to get in the headlines-I'm just trying to get people to stop running their mouths."
