(Photo : Reuters/Saul Loeb/Pool) U.S. President Barack Obama authorized expanded airstrikes against ISIL targets during his live televised speech on September 10, 2014.
Officials from the United States and France said that they found no evidence of a reported Islamic State plot to attack subways in New York and Paris, reports revealed on Friday.
Though no confirmation had been received, the New York Police Department has intensified security along subways in the city for possible dangers posed by the terrorist group which allegedly had plans to target the crowded area in both the U.S. and France.

This was after Iraq Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi claimed to have "credible" information from captured IS militants who told some Iraqi intelligence agents about the attack on the two nations on Thursday.
However, U.S. top officials clarified that they have received no such information and claimed that it was never brought up during President Barack Obama's meetings with the Iraqi Premier this week.
"We have not confirmed such a plot and would have to review any information from our Iraqi partners before making further determinations," Caitlin Hayden, a spokesperson for the National Security Council said, adding that the agency takes threats very seriously and always verifies all the information they receive.
A number of French officials told the Associated Press that they are unaware of such plans.
According to reports, U.S. authorities do not believe that there were no "current" and "specific" threats to the subway systems.
Despite having no threat confirmation, New York Police Chief William Bratton still deployed additional security personnel in about 450 subway systems in the city saying that they "always err on the side of caution."
Meanwhile, a senior Iraqi official based in New York explained to the Associated Press their leader's statement saying that the accuracy of information from their intelligence is still being verified although they are unable to discuss the threat further with the media.
The official claimed anonymity because he was not authorized to make such statements on record.
