Sony has already sent out an invitation to media people for their event on October 9 in New York.
The invitation came out after its announcement of Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact smartphones to be launched in India.
It has a written bold text saying, "Demand Great." The company has been promoting its Xperia Z3 models via its Twitter account with a #DemandGreat hashtag.

This may actually be the indication of the U.S. launch of the Xperia Z3 family and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact.
The event will start 1:30 p.m. in New York.
In addition on the speculation of Z3 models release date, U.S. wireless carrier T-Mobile confirmed that they will begin selling the Sony Xperia Z3 in the coming weeks. Some reports said that Sprint might follow T-Mobile's move to sell its own carrier-locked Z3 handset very soon.
However, Sony did not confirm the details for the selling of its Z3 models.
Last Thursday, Sony released its Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact handset in India with the prices of Rs. 51,990 (US$850) and Rs. 44,990 (US$735) respectively.
The new Sony handsets are IP65/68 certified and that makes them dust-proof and waterproof and have 4G LTE.
Z3 models also feature PS4 Remote play that lets users connect the phone to PS4 and play games at home via Wi-Fi connection, although the roll out of the functionality will still be in November.
