HTC is expected to officially launch a GoPro-like camera called ReCamera on October 8 in New York City.
Reports a few weeks ago said there are rumors HTC is developing a handheld device.
After a teaser video was released on YouTube, reports hinted that the company is planning to announce its new camera at a press event dubbed "Double Exposure."

According to 4Gnews, a Portuguese website, ReCamera is pack with a 16 megapixel sensor along with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections.
The camera will be compatible with both Android and iOS devices and will work through an app developed by HTC, 4GNews claimed.
In the teaser video and leaked images online, ReCamera was designed in the shape of a toy periscope. It's small and seems to be curved at one end.
The video also suggests its waterproof capabilities as it's shown shooting underwater.
Moreover, the device also seems to shoot in slow motion based on the slower segments seen in the teaser.
HTC hasn't released any further details yet but Fodawim, a reddit user, recently spotted a periscope like device on recamera.com that was removed later on.
There is also a Twitter account named recamera reportedly operated by HTC.
