(Photo : Reuters) Rumors of Windows Threshold has the computer community talking.
Microsoft Corporation will reveal the new version of its Windows operating system at an event in San Francisco on Tuesday, September 30.
Ahead of Windows 9 full release next year, the software giant is expected to launch a new name for its latest windows, reports said.
The Windows software is known internally as project "Threshold" or "Windows 9." Outside the company, the new OS will likely get a completely new name or will just be referred as Windows, analyst said.

According to some sources, the name change signifies a new direction and style for Microsoft.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella changed the company's goals by focusing on selling high-quality services to users across all devices.
Microsoft anticipates the new software will help boost sales to businesses and other customers that have avoided Windows 8 because of its different tile-based interface.
Microsoft declined to give further details on the software's new name and its plans for Tuesday's announcement.
Analyst Daniel Ives of investment bank FBR Capital Markets told the media Windows 9 is probably a game-changing product release for Microsoft.
The new software is a "launching pad and catalyst for Nadella's holistic cloud vision" over the coming years, Ives added.
According to Gartner analyst Michael Silver, Microsoft is shifting from a company that was Windows-centric into a services-centric firm.
