Game developer Bungie provided more details on tweaks it made in the Destiny 1.0.2 patch scheduled to go live next week.
The tweaks will have a big impact on Cryptarchs and Engrams. Cryptarchs (Crypto-archaeologist) is the designation for an individual that studies the properties of encoded matter, also known as Engrams.

Bungie's website stated the changes guarantee Engrams will always decode into items at or above the quality of an engram.
"Only Engrams that drop after 1.0.2 are subject to this change," it added.
Full list of tweak are as follows:
Changes in Cryptarch
Cayde-6 took the Cryptarch aside and presented him a sack of doorknobs. He quickly deciphered the mystery.
- Rare engrams can raise its chance to generate Legendary quality items.
- Rare Engrams will always create Rare or better quality items.
- Legendary Engrams will always produce Legendary or better quality items, including Materials or Exotics.
Changes in Activity
- Daily Heroics, Weekly Heroics, and Vanguard: Tiger Playlist activities will include Rare and Legendary Engrams in addition to their existing rewards.
Changes in Item
- Ascendant materials got promoted to Legendary to identify them easily with the gear they are used to upgrade.
- Legendary Engram items which already exist in players' inventory will be demoted to Rare quality when the patch goes live, so they need to decode them while they can.
Aside from these changes in the game, the more exciting news is the discovery of a second treasure cave located at the Rocketyard area of Old Russia on Earth.
