As of Saturday, the world's most eligible bachelor is a married man. In an announcement made by Stan Rosenfield, the 53-year-old star's representative, Clooney has finally tied the know with his 36-year-old fiancée Amal Alamuddin on Saturday in a sunset wedding in Venice.

"George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin were married today [Saturday] in a private ceremony in Venice, Italy," Rosenfield told People magazine.
The twilight matrimonial union of the renowned actor and human rights lawyer was held at the Aman Canal Grande Hotel, a seven-star hotel that housed the bride the night prior to the celebration. According to sources, the Saturday wedding was a symbolic ceremony while the civil ceremony will reportedly take place on Monday. The later wedding will be held at the 16th-century Palazzo Cavalli. This place is said to be connected with the Ca'Farsetti, which is the town hall of Venice that serves as the venue for most civil weddings.
Clooney was the last to arrive following the fleet of water taxis transporting the wedding guests from Hotel Cipriani to an island facing St. Mark's Square. Along with the groom was his father, Nick Clooney, who appeared to be as excited as his son.
Walter Veltroni, the former mayor of Rome, reportedly officiated Clooney and Alamuddin's wedding. He has been known to be a close friend of Clooney. In a report from Corriere della Sera, the actor and Veltroni first met in 2007 in Rome when the former visited the place to receive a Peace Summit Award for advocating peace in Darfur. Veltroni arrived on Saturday afternoon at Aman.
The bachelorette and bachelor party celebrations both took place on Friday. People magazine shared that the bachelorette party outfit of the bride was a red and black gown by Alexander McQueen. Her entourage comprised 14 ladies, which included her mom and sister.
Clooney and Alamuddin's engagement was announced by the actor on Sept. 7 during a charity event. "I met my lovely bride-to-be here in Italy, whom I will be marrying in a couple of weeks, in Venice, of all places," Clooney shared. "I would just like to say to my bride-to-be, Amal, that I love you very much and I can't wait to be your husband," he added.
The wedding guest list reportedly included celebrities like Matt Damon, Ellen Barkin, Bono, Emily Blunt, Bill Murray, Sandra Bullock, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, and Julia Roberts.
