"[Anthony's] forward thinking on emerging threats will better position the Scowcroft Center to provide cutting-edge analysis on how the United States must adapt for the future," The Atlantic Council said in a statement.

Steven Grundman, a George Lund fellow for emerging defense challenges at the Atlantic Council, obtained the idea of while watching his son was playing Call of Duty: Black Ops II. He invited Anthony to join the project.

Grundman was impressed with the game's attention to detail and a realistic portrayal of war in the year 2025. He thought the perspective of the game's creator on the war issue might help policy experts approach the future of war.

"The Art of Future Warfare" will be launched at an October 1 event. The event will be held in Washington, DC. Both Anthony and the Atlantic Council will tackle the topic thoroughly in a public event titled "The Future of Unknown Conflict."

Meanwhile, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is set to launch November 4 for the PS3, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.
