Vine has released an update enabling Android users to import existing videos from their handsets to the app.

The popular video sharing app's Version 2.5 now has an option that allows users with Android devices to pull up videos from their camera gallery and create a six-second version.

Originally, the six-second videos could only be recorded through Vine but now the Twitter-owned app decided to allow videos to be uploaded from elsewhere.

Last August, the update was made available to iOS devices. iOS users have the ability to import pre-existing videos to the app, edit their own videos and share it under #VintageVine.

In Version 2.5, Android fans can now upload any video from their camera roll directly into the app. They can add multiple videos and trim them down to fit within Vine's six-second clip.

Along with the update, Vine also included several new features to improve user experience.

Users can now edit their videos and undo it within the app. Moreover, they can also duplicate frames on the edit screen, mute the sound in each clip and preview every shot while still in shooting mode.

Other features are focus lock and ghost mode on the front camera and an access to the flashlight for low-light recording.

Version 2.5 is now available at the Google Play store.
