Gangs of Hong Kong, Macao and Overseas Take Part in Dong Guan’s Hotel Industry

The lucrative entertainment industry in Pearl River Delta attracts gangs from Hong Kong, Macao and overseas to take part in it, becoming a platform for various crimes.
Dongguan City blows a strong storm of cracking down on pornography. Even though it has not yet known if any Hong Kong citizens fall into this storm, it has already stopped many of the people who go to "north" having fun. It is worth noting that the lucrative entertainment industry in Pearl River Delta attracts gangs from Hong Kong, Macao and overseas to take part in it, becoming a platform for various crimes.

According to a report, as a city with many Hong Kong companies in Pearl River Delta and with transportation connivance, Dongguan attracts lots of Hong Kong people to entertain to. Jun, a Hong Kong person, frankly said that entertainment services in Dongguan were much cheaper and more interesting than the services in Hong Kong, so they were always very popular. 10 years ago, over 1000 hotels in Dongguan were established in accordance with different star levels, and among those hotels, there were more than 10 5-star hotels. This number is only less than the numbers of Beijing and Shanghai's hotels. Some of those also secretly provided prostitution services in sauna rooms.
According to Guangdong police, Dongguan's hotel industry is invested by private owners, Hong Kong businessmen as well as gangs from Hong Kong, Macao and overseas. Particularly in these years, hotel industry and entertainment industry have been developed very fast and prosperous; some of the sauna hotels operate prostitution business and gambling. These hotels have been become to a hidden place for those oversea gangs' members.
Based on the cases of Guangdong Police, those gangs' members enter the country in name of investor, visitor, or tourist, but actually they pursue "black economy" such as opening gambling center, organizing prostitution business, and using money as well as operating business illegally.
Police disclosed that during the 3-month anti-vice operation throughout the province, Guangdong Police will strengthen the cooperation with Hong Kong and Macao police and master the trends of those gangs' organizations.
