President Xi meets U.S. Secretary of State Kerry at the Great Hall of the People on 14th.
Kerry forwards President Obama's Chinese New Year greetings to President Xi and also says Obama is looking forwards to meeting Xi again and keeping closely in touch with him.

Xi requests Kerry to forward his greetings to Obama and tell Obama that China commits to build up a newly relationship with the United States and hopes to have more conversations with the U.S. as well as to enhance the trust between each other and to deepen collaboration. Xi also hopes to deal with different opinions appropriately and to promote the relationship between two countries in order to keep a healthy and stable development.
Xi emphasizes that China and the U.S. need to maintain close exchanges and strategic communication, also to maintain and develop economic dialogue, cultural exchanges, a high-level consultation and mechanism dialogue of China-US Joint Commission on Commerce and Trade, to outreach to the operation of areas such as economic, trade, local government, culture, military affairs, and energy sources, as well as to strengthen dialogue, coordination, and cooperation on important international affairs and local issues.
Kerry indicates that China and the U.S. are celebrating the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations. China has been developing rapidly in the past 35 years. The U.S. pays high attention to build a newly relation between the two big countries. As two big economic entities worldwide, China and the U.S. should strengthen practical collaboration, manage and control differences well, enhance impetus of relation development between two countries.
Due to the issue of climate change, Xi stresses that China highly values the establishment of ecological civilization. It is not required by others but China wants to do it and also adopts many measures. China will keep doing it. Even though China and the U.S. are in different development stage, the two countries have common interests such as green low-carbon and energy saving. He hopes the two countries cooperate and accomplish more with different good qualities.
Kerry shows that the U.S. would like to enhance communication and cooperation with China and devote to promoting global climate issues.
