"American Idol" alum Jordin Sparks seems to be taking the high-road when it comes to the end of her three-year relationship with singer Jason Derulo. The pop singer has been posting on her social media positive thoughts regarding the relationship, reminding herself and the public not to "cry because it's over, but smile because it happened".

Despite the pain that failed relationships bring, Sparks has been chugging along, busy promoting her new flick "Left Behind" which premiered last September 26 at the Catalina Film Festival.
Her date during the said event was her close friend, former 'NSync member, Lance Bass. Sparks uploaded pictures of herself with Bass on Instagram posing as if they were taking prom photo, as well as fun, wacky photos with friends.
Sparks seems to be focusing on fun and work instead of dwelling on past hurts.
She also posted a photo of herself in the studio and captioned it with, "write, sing, repeat". And for a singer, maybe the best way to cure a broken heart is to sing her heart out and, put her heartbreak on paper.
As for her former fiance, Derulo, he opted to lie low for a little bit. He recently took to social media to post his statement regarding their split.
Derulo stated that he initially wanted to remain quiet regarding their break-up, but rumors regarding infidelity and deceit have prompted him to speak up. The singer shared that he has had ups and downs with Sparks, but there was no cheating by either him or Sparks involved in the demise of their relationship.
Furthermore, Derulo shared that he and Sparks simply want to move on with their lives and remain tight-lipped about what had happened between the two of them.
"Everything is cool," the singer shared, saying that their relationship ended as amicably as it could have been possible.
