Sugababes' Mutya Buena Declared Bankrupt by UK High Court

Former Sugababes member Mutya Buena has been declared bankrupt by the UK High Court over the weekend after the singer allegedly struggled to pay her bills and taxes.

Over the weekend, the former lead singer for Sugababes, one of the hottest girl groups in the UK, has filed for bankruptcy after she went through difficulties of paying her outstanding tax.

According to a media outlet, Buena is blaming an administrative error for the tax slip-up.

On the other hand, the 29-year old singer is said to have attempted to make a comeback with a new girl group called MKS which was formed under a new moniker. The band is said to have been working on an album since 2011.

However, when MKS released their first single entitled 'Flatline' in August last year, the song did not even make it to the Top 50 UK chart.

Back when Buena was a part of Sugababes, they've had quite a number of songs making it to the top of the charts, including the songs 'Hole in the Head' and 'Freak Like Me.' But in 2005, she decided to quit the band.

Fans and supporters of MKS have been waiting for a new song and it is said that earlier this year, the girl group reportedly released a teaser for their song called 'Today.'

Ten days ago, a demo version of their song 'Burnt Out' surfaced on a social networking site in Russia called VK, but the group is said to still be in the process of working on their album.

On the other hand, speculators say that the cause for the rather cold response to MKS is their song 'Flatline.' In turn, Buena's band mate Keisha Buchanan responded through Twitter saying, "I'm actually crackin' up at the way our single 'Flatline' (1 of the sickest most credible songs of 2013) is used as a reason 4 everything."

She also tweeted that one can't get rich with a top 10 or top 5 song, but one can definitely go broke from a top 50, adding that matters shouldn't be dramatized.
