Rumors are HTC will launch a new smartphone called HTC M8 Eye on October 8 in New York City, along with its own GoPro-like camera, the RECamera.
Android developer LlabTooFer tweeted the new HTC M8 Eye will be an updated version of the HTC One M8 smartphone. It also claims the new device is to be announced and released next month along with some changes like an improved camera.

The handset will come with a 13 megapixel rear camera replacing HTC's UltraPixel technology that uses a standard 13MP lens.
It seems HTC is finally ready to let go of the much-loved UltraPixels that don't perform well at capturing photos in low light.
The M8 will also feature Duo camera technology that allows users to refocus and add effects to post-shot. The front camera will remain a 5 megapixel shooter, qualifying it as a "selfie" camera, reports said.
Other specifications reported earlier this month for the HTC One (M8) Eye are 5.2-inch full-HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) display and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 SoC.
Additionally, the new HTC smartphone will also have 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB of native storage, a 128 GB capacity microSD slot, and a 2600 mAh battery.
The HTC M8 Eye will apparently run Android 4.4.4 KitKat with the latest Sense 6.0 UI, LlabTooFer added.
It's also expected the HTC M8 Eye will be available in all major wireless carriers in the U.S. and Europe.
