The president of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Jinping Xi, meets the honorary President of Nationalist Party, Zhan Lian at Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in the afternoon on 18^th.

Xi emphasizes that both Taiwan and Mainland China shall keep the idea of a whole family and promote the relationship between both sides as well as obtain more achievements to benefit both sides' people, achieve the Chinese dream of great rejuvenation of Chinese nation.

Xi indicates that many issues are hard to solve in a short term due to history and reality reasons, but compatriots of two sides are a family with mutual blood, culture, link, and wish. First, Compatriots of two sides are a family; no one is able to cut off our blood. Compatriots are rooted in the mutual blood, culture, and history. This is inherited, native, and indelible. Reunion of two sides is the mutual wishes between mainland and Taiwan.

Second, compatriots of two sides have common fate. Even though the two sides have not yet unified, both two sides belong to one country and one nation, which has not been changed and is not able to be changed. Compatriots in mainland can understand that Taiwan compatriots have their own history experiences and social environment as well as their emotions. It will take time to console their pain. We cannot choose past but grasp present and create future.

Third, compatriots of two sides need to make concerted effort to maintain and promote the relationship between two sides and peaceful development. In the past five years, two sides commonly have chosen a path of peaceful development and have already created a brand new phrase. This is a right path to maintain peaceful relations between two sides, to promote common development, and to move forward to national rejuvenation. Compatriots of two sides must proceed with confidence, get rid of any interference as well as keep going along with this path step by step.

Xi also points out that compatriots of two sides need to accomplish the Chinese dream of great rejuvenation of Chinese nation. Chinese dream is also the dream of two sides. Compatriots must help each other to participate in the process of great rejuvenation of Chinese nation no matter parties, classes, religions, and regions.

Lian agrees that people of two sides are one family, belonging to Chinese nation. People of two sides should take a positive part in the process of great rejuvenation of Chinese nation and peaceful development of two sides with practical attitude.
