Congressional aides revealed Monday that the United States Congress might take until 2015 to vote regarding the authorization of President Barack Obama's campaign against ISIS in Syria and Iraq.
On Sunday, lawmakers urged the Congress to authorize additional military action in Syria.

Although Obama had the authority to order airstrike's even without the Congress' authorization, U.S. House Speaker John Boehner still suggests that law makers create a resolution to back the president's strategy.
Lawmakers, on the other hand, were calling on the congress to return from its recess to review some possible actions regarding the Middle Eastern war, and vote on the "authorization for the use of military force" or AUMF.
However, several lawmakers say that voting for the AUMF should not be rushed.
According to congressional aides, it may take a while before the congress finally settles the issue regarding the AUMF, because there were other pressing matters in the homeland that they have to deal with, such as expenditure plans.
The AUMF vote should be made by newly elected or re-elected lawmakers, which is why the voting should wait until the midterm elections, House Armed Services Committee chairman Gov. Buck McKeon said.
In a statement released to the Washington Post on Monday, McKeon said future lawmakers who will be chosen in a few weeks should carry the responsibility for authorizing the campaign, and oversee the conflict.
"Even if that means we have to wait till January for the vote," said McKeon.
Over the past week, United States forces were joined by the kingdom of Saudi Arabia d the United Arab Emirates in targeting Islamic State militants in Syria.
However, reports claim that it's still not enough to stop the insurgents in advancing in several key cities in the Middle Eastern country.
