Samsung Electronics unveiled its first 27-inch curved display technology dubbed SD590C today.
As it continues to advance monitor design and innovation, Samsung included desktop displays to deliver a completely immersive viewing and gaming experience to consumers.
The Samsung SD590C Full HD curved monitor is a light-emitting diode (LED) display that has a curvature of 4000R. This offers a wider field of view than other flat panels and features a resolution of 1920 x 1080.

The 27-inch screen has a brightness of 350 nits and a 3000:1 mega dynamic contrast ratio. It also includes a 4 ms response time (G2G), 178 degree viewing angles, support for 16.7 million colors and a refresh rate of 60 Hz.
Additionally, the panel has 2-channel dual stereo speakers built directly into its curve to add a surround-sound experience. D-sub, Displayport and an HDMI port are also available on the monitor.
Consumers can also optimize the monitor for gaming mode. SD590C has a Game Mode that can "intelligently detects changes in scenes, enhances the color, and alters the screen's contrast" to provide an improved experience during gameplay.
Samsung Vice President of Marketing Ron Gazzola said the company is dedicated to "pushing the envelope on both monitor design and technology" to provide the best experience for consumers.
The SD590C comes with a "curved design that was carefully engineered to draw consumers into the display and make them feel like a part of the content," Gazzola added.
The Samsung SD590C will go on sale October 1 for US$429.99, reports said.
