Hong Kong and Macao Office of the State Council considers that along with "one country, two system" development, as a local administrative region of the People's Republic of China, the prosperity of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region has had a close relation with the country's integral development. The communication and cooperation between Hong Kong and Mainland are a big trend. The central government and Hong Kong government promote many polices including self-service travelling in Hong Kong to the mainland residents to enhance Hong Kong's competitive power, accelerate all kinds of economic and social programmers in Hong Kong, make the mutual prosperity of both Mainland and Hong Kong come true. Hong Kong and Macao Office of the State Council make a stand against any statement and action which would affect Hong Kong's stableness and prosperity, would obstacle the communication and operation between two sides, and would hurt the feelings of compatriots in Hong Kong and Mainland.
Hong Kong Tourism Board president, Jianyue Lin, states that Hong Kong should establish more hotels and open more points of interest such as developing Lantau Island to increase the tourism capacity of Hong Kong, so that tourists would not concentrate on specific places.
Lin indicates that the Tourism Board will allocate resources flexibly in accordance with market priority, focusing on attracting more tourists who stay overnight and development new markets. At the same time, the Tourism Board will positively attract people who have high level of consumption and will also develop convention center tourists as well as luxurious cruise tourists.
