The Cupertino-based tech company has received a license for the iPhone 6 to be used on China's wireless networks, according to a statement on the website of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

The latest models of iPhones were made available to consumers in the previous week, selling approximately 10 million of the smartphones across Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, United Kingdom and United States, but not in China.

The delayed release of Apple's latest handsets has reportedly ignited black market sales of iPhone 6 models in China. A number of individuals cited by Bloomberg said that they were buying up stock of the smartphones in countries where they're available and reselling them in China for a huge and quick profits.

However, in the previous weeks, the prices of contraband iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have dropped, from the initial launch date's price of $1,950 to $2,440 to the current $1,060 to $1,430, the New York Times reported on Monday.

Resellers and smugglers initially believed they would earn hefty sums from the smartphones considering its high demand but it doesn't seem to be working.

Meanwhile, rumors are starting to surface that the launch of the iPhones would be happening on Oct. 10.

Chinese tech news website Techweb has picked up an alleged internal Apple memo to employees in retail outlets in China which suggests, "prototype" iPhone 6 models are going to be stocked in authorized stores starting Tuesday. The same memo also pointed to employee training and product readiness to be carried out simultaneously.

Details in a store preparation timeline outlined in an employee training course lead to the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus being made available to the Chinese public on Oct. 10, according to AppleInsider.
