Country singer Carrie Underwood announced earlier this month that she and her husband Mike Fisher of the Nashville Predators, are expecting their first baby.
The singer seems like she needs a little bit of time to let the news sink in.
"It's still kind of weird, to be honest," the 31-year-old American Idol winner admitted in an interview with the Today Show.

Underwood also shared a common occurrence with her husband on the show when she said, "Sometimes I'll be with my husband, and it's like, 'I'm gonna be a mom. You're gonna be a dad. Is this real life?' But we're really excited."
The six-time Grammy award winner also expressed that she hopes she could be like her mother in terms of what kind of mother she would like to become.
"I have a wonderful mother. If I can be even a little bit like that, I think we'll be good," she said.
Aside from revealing details about her baby, Underwood also spilled some big news about her other baby -- music. Underwood said she would be her new single, "Something in the Water" on December 9.
"Something in the Water" is described by Underwood to be a "joyous, uplifting song about changing your life for the better."
The song will come from her "Greatest Hits" album.
The singer announced her pregnancy on September 1 through an Instagram post. In the photo, she holds her two dogs who were wearing shirt with "big brother" and "big sister" printed on them. The country singer captioned it: "In honor of 'Labor' day, Ace & Penny would like to make an announcement. Their parents couldn't be happier.."
Her husband, hockey player Mike Fisher took to twitter to make his own announcement. He tweeted, "We haven't picked names yet but it's looking like Fly is gonna fly. #boyorgirl #flyfisher."
