Just a few days since the news broke out about their split, Jordin Spark and Jason Derulo are now addressing the reasons behind it.
The American Idol alum took to Twitter last Friday and tweeted, "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." The tweet seemed to make an allusion to her recent breakup.

Though Jason Derulo has been hesitant to talk about the split, telling Big D of Twin Cities radio that he'd "rather not, man..." the "Talk Dirty" singer confessed that he and Sparks have the intention to remain friends.
"Yeah, everything is cool, not a bad situation. You know it's not one of those kind of things," the singer said.
However, more recently, Derulo seemed to want to talk about the breakup more. in a statement to ABC news on Monday, Derulo said, "Though I think it is a private matter and intended to keep my break-up with Jordin personal, due to bogus and irresponsible lies being reported by insensitive media outlets it became necessary for me to comment."
The 25-year-old singer said he wanted to clear things up comment on the rumor spreading that he was cheating and his rise in status in the music industry was the cause of the termination of their three-year long relationship.
"There was a lot of tension in our relationship for a lot of different reasons. Every relationship has ups and downs... when you stop having more good times than bad times, it's time to call it quits," Derulo said in an interview on KIIS FM.
While he said there was no third party or cheating involved, Derulo did say that the two being constantly apart was the cause of the friction in the relationship. "It may have weighed more on her than it weighed on me. She was in a frustrated space a lot," he said.
He also said that expectations and "pressures of marriage" were big topics they often fought about.
Although he has a song entitles "Marry Me", the singer says he will not avoid performing it. He said it would be tough to perform, but it will be "special in a different way because that was a huge time in my life."
