Amanda Bynes Arrested For Another DUI Charge, Parents Unaware Of Her Whereabouts

Former teen star Amanda Bynes was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor early Sunday morning for driving under the influence in Los Angeles, California.

In a statement released on Monday, the California Highway Patrol said the 28-year-old actress was taken into custody after officers saw her Mercedes-Benz sport-utility vehicle stopped in the middle of an intersection in the Van Nuys neighborhood of Los Angeles at around 4 a.m.

Authorities said Amanda was cooperative but appeared disheveled at the time of the police stop.

After being evaluated at a nearby police station, the CHP said the former Nickolodeon star was established to be under the influence of "an unidentified drug."

But TMZ reported that Amanda has allegedly taken a doctor-prescribed psychostimulant drug called "Adderall" before getting behind the wheel.

The former Nickolodeon star was released at noontime after posting US$15,000 bail.

She is set to appear in court on the misdemeanor charge on October 23.

The arrest comes while the troubled actress was currently on probation that stemmed from her "driving with an alcohol component" arrest in 2012.

It was only last February when a judge placed Amanda on a three-year probation in connection with the DUI arrest in 2012.

In September last year, Amanda's mother Lynn was granted temporary legal control of their daughter.

Since then, the actress had been living with her parents, her mother taking control of her legal and financial affairs.

The conservatorship ended early last month and Amanda immediately moved out of her parents' house.

Reports said she is now staying in Hollywood.

But the actress' parents could not verify if this were true, as they did not know where their daughter was after the arrest.

Amanda's dad Rick said he and his wife only learned that their daughter had been arrested through the media.

He said he had not spoken to the "What A Girl Wants" star since her conservatorship ended.

Rick further noted that they did not bail her out after the arrest.

Reports said the latest arrest could result in a probation violation. As a result, Amanda may serve time in jail.
