Path Talk Allows People to Message Local Businesses

Path released a new version of its messaging app dubbed Path Talk that enables users to contact businesses via text messages.

Path Talk version 1.1 has a new feature called ‘places’ where users can communicate with any local business directly from the app.

Path Vice President Cynthia Samanian said that the idea behind this app is to make the users’ lives simpler. Anyone can use ‘Places’ with any business, even if it is not in the map.

"You're not at all limited to what you can see here," Samanian added.

This app helps its users to simplify the process of doing things like requesting appointments, making reservations, or inquiring about product pricing.

Last June, Path announced the release of Path Talk after the company acquired TalkTo, a messaging pioneer that allowed users to text any nearby business and get a feedback afterwards.

The first standalone app from Dave Morin’s Path social networking enterprise works with any store or restaurant without the need to install or set up a software in your devices.

Path’s call center agents are committed to calling up stores and providing response to their customers in real-time.

The Path Talk app will help users refrain from making multiple calls. "It's about getting you the answer you need more quickly, before you even need to ask,” Stuart Levinson, the CEO and co-founder of TalkTo, explained.

Samanian hopes that Path Talk’s unique combination of features will attract new users and make Path Talk their main messaging app.
