The Silk Road: Civilizations have economy and culture prosperous

An expert of maritime history and the Silk Road, Yuling Ding says, "Building 'Economic belt of the silk road' and 21st century's 'Maritime Silk Road' is a road to accomplish 'The Chinese Dream'."
China News Service holds the opening ceremony of 'Chinese Media's Tours to the New Silk Road' and 'Economic Forum of Silk Road in the New Century' on 23rd in Quanzhou, Fujian Province.

Quanzhou Maritime History Museum curator, Yuling Ding, introduces that China has been always friendly and peaceful with adjacent countries and the 'Silk Road' countries on the Silk Road's rise and prosperous history no matter on land or on the sea. In these two important roads between eastern and western trade, China and the adjacent countries have been working with each other on economic and cultural areas.
Ding said that the maritime Silk Road was established by folk's economic activities in history. Chinese ancestors opened up a road for trade at sea. This road expanded from China to every place worldwide, connecting countries and people all around the world in the areas of the politics, economy, religions, cultures and arts. It also promoted the friendly communication, visit, and influence between countries and people. The Silk Road covers east across Korean Peninsula and Japan, south to South Asia, Southeast Asia, far to West Asia, Arabic countries and even to Africa and Europe.
Quanzhou was the starting point of ancient maritime Silk Road. Ding points out that the 'Silk Road' gave Quanzhou profound culture, becoming the important factor of Southern Fujian culture and Quanzhou maritime civilization. Due to different religions, various nations on the trade process, the culture of Quanzhou has been very rich and full of variety, including boat culture, navigation culture, the sea god culture, religious culture as well as business concepts, tolerance, and related values. All of those cultures and values have made Quanzhou have the most amounts of businessmen worldwide.
