Twi-hards, take a deep breath before reading on.
The New York Times reported that Lions Gate and "Twilight" author Stephenie Meyer are set to select five aspiring female directors to collaborate with them on making short films based on the characters from the "Twilight" saga.
The project is entitled "The Storytellers-New Creative Voices of The Twilight Saga" and is backed up by Women in Film, an organization which strives to end the shortage of female directors in Hollywood and, consequently empower women in the workplace.

The said move comes after two years since Lions Gate released supposed fifth and final installment of the "Twilight" movie franchise. This effort seems to be Hollywood's way of keeping previously successful franchises alive despite the end of its big screen run.
The short movies will be financed by Lions Gate and will be featured and shown exclusively on Facebook.
"We think Facebook is a great way for us to introduce the world of Twilight to a whole new audience while re-energizing existing fans," Lions Gate's vice chairman Michael Burns shared.
"Twilight" leading lady, Kristen Stewart, will be part of the panel that will be selecting the five female directors to take on the short films.
Aside from Stewart, Academy Award winning actress Kate Winslet, "The Help" actress Octavia Spencer, "Modern Family" star Julie Bowen, "Twilight" director Catherine Hardwicke, film producer Cathy Schulman and "Frozen" director Jennifer Lee will be part of the impressive all-women panel.
"The female voice is something that has become more and more important to me as I've worked in the film industry," Meyers stated in a statement released to the press.
As if hinting at more exciting news ahead, Burns shared that the project is a mere template and will only be the beginning of other things to come.
