Fixed mobile convergence and the fast development of data centers are asking for higher requirements from the bearer networks. Therefore, operators need to evolve traditional IP network to intelligent network. In the future, operators should focus on how to improve service quality and provide value-added services.
The Atom router runs Huawei's advanced software platform with Huawei's leading photoelectric and chip technologies and industry-leading processing techniques. The finger-sized router doesn't need extra power supply or site resources. It can works instantly after being plugged into a service port of any device, such as a base station, a router and a switch, which means the Atom router is quite user friendly.
The Atom Router can be placed in any node of the network. Meanwhile, The router can smooth network evolution. It allows an upgrade from GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications)/UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunications System) to LTE (Long Term Evolution)/LTE-A (LTE-Advanced) networks, from IPv4 to IPv6 networks. What's more, SDN (Software Defined Network) allows Atom Routers to provide an open network with various applications, which can increase the power of networking.
According to Gai Gang, Huawei's carrier IP product president, the creative product is quite simportant for Huawei Company. " Huawei is following the latest network evolution trends. At the same time, Huawei focuses on customers' needs. Huawei launches the industry's first atom router innovatively. The router solves the puzzle of traditional network, which is invisible, immeasurable and unmanageable by providing a new pipe that is open, elastic, and service-aware. The innovative Atom Router also can add substantial value to traditional networks." Gai Gang said.
