Following the confirmation released by SM Entertainment that South Korean girl group Girl's Generation member Jessica Jung will be leaving the group, the singer has finally stepped forward and issued a statement through a letter she posted on Weibo today.
In the letter, Jessica explained that she has been given a notice of departure from Girls' Generation by SM Entertainment, her talent outfit, last Monday, September 29, adding that she had been shocked about the news.

The 25-year old singer explained that despite her efforts in prioritizing her scheduled activities with her fellow members and putting aside her personal business, she was still asked to leave the group.
According to the letter that Jessica wrote, she has always wanted to create her own business and sufficiently consulted with SM Entertainment as well as her group members about the preparations she had to do for the launching of her fashion line called BLANC, asking for them to understand her situation.
Jessica mentioned in her letter that during the launching of BLANC last August, the company as well as the rest of Girls' Generation even congratulated her, however, earlier last month, her fellow members suddenly changed their mind, telling her that she could either quit her business or leave the group.
Based on the post that Jessica has written, their sudden change of mind as well as the meeting they've held in order to address the issue was done without any justifiable reason.
Jessica seems to have been subjected into a tight spot as she explained to her group members that she cannot quit the new business after just a month as she is bound by contract with a business partner, speculated to be Tyler Kwon, a business man.
According to Jessica's post, she has asked for permission from the group's managing company and also said that she has never neglected her schedules and activities for Girls' Generation.
Last September 16, Jessica mentioned in her letter that she met with the company's CEO and once again, asked for permission to push through with her business.
However, she was given the notice last Monday which prevented her from joining the fan meeting which was held in China last Tuesday. According to the letter, Jessica was excluded from the group's other activities following the notice which the company issued to her.
Jessica expressed that she is deeply saddened by the company's decision and aired her grievances for being kicked out spending 15 years with the group just because she is starting her own business.
Lastly, the singer thanked her fans and asked for them to understand the situation, hoping that they will still support Girls' Generation in the future.
