Li Keqiang Meets with “Friendship Award” Foreign Experts

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang met with the 30th Annual Chinese government awardees during the 2014 "Friendship Award" of foreign experts and their relatives at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Tuesday.
Li, on behalf of the Chinese government and people, congratulated the award-winning foreign experts and thanked them for their contribution to Chinese economic and social development, as well as sent greetings to all foreign experts, international friends, and their relatives.

Li said that the development of Chinese economy could not only depend on the wisdom of 1.3 billion Chinese people, but also on the wisdom and power gained from all mankind and to study all the outstanding cultural achievements of the world. China will be more open to import talents, as well as to keep friendly and cooperative relationship with the world to achieve a win-win goal.
Li pointed out that an important aspect of comprehensive and deepening reform in China is the release of all kinds of talents to create a vibrant entrepreneurial innovation, expanding the space to display both Chinese and foreigners' talents. The Chinese government will continue decentralizing, building up an open, transparent, and predictable institutional environment and working in accordance with market rules and international rules to make foreigners obtain Chinese "green cards" much more easily, do research and invest in china more conveniently, and protect intellectual property better.
Li stressed that the Chinese government will strive to work on service security for foreign experts and their relatives. He hoped to bring world class advanced technology, management experience, and cultural achievements to China, as well as to bring the real, comprehensive, three-dimensional China to the world.
The awarded foreign experts thanked Li for meeting and awarding the prizes, as well as expressed that they would continue to exert efforts geared towards China's modernization construction. The foreign experts and their relatives were also invited to the reception of the 65th anniversary of People's Republic of China.
This year marks the 65th anniversary of China's National Day. The awarded numbers of the "Friendship Award" are double every five years. A hundred experts from 25 countries were awarded for the "Friendship Award" this year.
