Jason Sudeikis To Voice Red In "Angry Birds" Flick

Actor Jason Sudeikis will be leading the vocal cast of the "Angry Birds" flick portraying the ill-tempered Red. Josh Gad will be voicing Chuck, the yellow-feathered bird, while Danny McBride will be the voice of Bomb, the big bird.

Aside from the three actors. Sony Pictures Entertainment also announced that Maya Rudolph will be voicing a character called Matilda, Peter Dinklage will be taking on the role of Mighty Eagle, while Bill Hader will be one of the evil pigs.

Other cast members include Kate McKinnon, Romeo Santos, Tony Hale, Cristela Alonzo, Jillian Bell, Ike Barinholtz, Danielle Brooks, Hannibal Buress, Keegan-Michael Key, Ian Andrew Hecox and Anthony Padilla. 

Producer John Cohen stated that he is extremely proud of the cast gathered for the flick, sharing, "Not only do we have Jason, Josh, Danny, Bill, Maya and Peter bringing these characters to life, but they're surrounded by an all-star ensemble of emerging comedic talent - these are some of the funniest people out there today, and we're thrilled to have them all on board." 

Dwight Caines, president of theatrical marketing for Sony Pictures shared that the following of "Angry Birds" will certainly be driving the audience into the theaters. He promises a hilarious movie penned by Jon Vitti that fans are most certainly be anticipating to watch.

The flick, directed by Fergal Reilly and Clay Kaytis, will open in theaters on July 1, 2016.

"Angry Birds" is a video game franchise created by Rovio Entertainment. The said game was first released in December 2009 for Apple's iOS. Ever since its release, the game franchise has extended its reach to merchandise, the film industry and even printed comic books.

The original game has been dubbed as "one of the most mainstream games out right now", "one of the great runaway hits of 2010" and, "the largest mobile app success the world has seen so far".
