“You Who Came From the Stars” Not Popular Among Western Audiences

While Asian audiences are crazy about "You Who Came From the Stars", it is not popular in North America and Europe. Vast cultural differences are the main reason that the hot drama in eastern countries goes cold in western countries.
"You who came from the stars" is a South Korean television series about an alien who landed on Earth 400 years ago in the Joseon Dynasty, who then falls in love with a top actress in the modern era.

Edmonton Globe of Canada points out that this type of love story between aliens and earthmen is not new to western audiences who have had over 60 years of drama history, but they prefer stories with a dark side.
Spanish newspaper El Confidencial says "'You Who Came From the Stars' indeed has all the gorgeous elements in scene, story, costume, and props to attract Asian audiences," and South Korea has proven its mettle in drama production, but there are cultural differences among world audiences to consider.
International Economic Times of the U.S. observes that since Asian people are still generally shy, they find it normal for a romantic story's plot to drag on, whereas western audiences deem it too slow when the leading male and female characters establish a romantic relationship after 10 episodes.
The Wrap, an American entertainment website, believes that while the male lead character, Kim Soo Hyun, is well loved and admired by Chinese audiences, Korean stars will have a hard time staying popular because the South Korean entertainment industry tends to change or replace its lead performers at a rather fast pace.
