Nexus 7 vs. NVIDIA Shield: Features, Specs and Price Comparability

The new NVIDIA Shield tablet was released just last week and Google's very own Nexus 7 was launched in 2013.
The LTE enabled Shield tablet can now be purchased at various electronics retail stores. It promises to deliver a good gaming experience.
Comparing the two tablets according to their specs, features and price should guide you before buying the device that best fits your needs.

Hardware, software, and storage
Nexus 7: It runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and can be upgraded to a higher version. The processor is Krait and it's powered by quad core working at 1.5 GHz paired up with the Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset from Qualcomm. Its 2 GB of RAM has 16 GB and 32 GB internal storage.
Shield: Since it's designed for gaming, it has a better processor and OS. Android 4.4.2 KitKat helps to run the tab.
Shield's Cortex A15r3 processor is clocked at 2.2 GHz along with Kepler 1 SMX GPU and paired up with superior quad-core (Tegra K1). It has a 2 GB of RAM and comes with two internal storage capacities: 16 GB and 32 GB. The tablet is also expandable up to 128 GB using a microSD.
Display, exterior design and size
Nexus 7: It comes with a 7-inch IPS LCD display with 1,920 x 1,200 pixels screen resolution. It sports a black strip of glass that covers the corners of the display.
It also blends with the rear rubberized plastic panel. Its thickness is 8.65 mm and weighs 299 grams.
Shield: This 8-inch tablet features an IPS LCD display and 1,920 x 1,200 pixels screen resolution. It features a high grain polycarbonate rear with matte finish. The tablet's corners have sculpted edges. It's 9.2 mm thick and 390 grams heavy.
Both tablets are able to produce sharper and vivid photos and videos.
Camera and battery
The two tablets both feature a 5 megapixel primary camera without flash.
Nexus 7: Its secondary camera is a 1.2 megapixel shooter. The battery has a capacity of 3950 mAh.
Shield: It's worth noting the secondary camera is also the same as the primary camera, 5 megapixel. The battery has a capacity of 5197 mAh.
Price
Nexus 7: The 16 GB tablet costs US$208.00.
Shield: The 16 GB version is US$299 while the LTE-enabled 32 GB version is US$399.
