Now, the Hong Kong police have resorted to using aggressive crowd control methods including tear gas, pepper spray and beating up protesters with batons. Their tactics have garnered criticism worldwide as it violated the right of Hong Kong citizens.
Tsang attended a charity function last September 28 and during his interview, he has expressed his sadness over Hong Kong police's decision to resort to violent means in order to fend off the demonstrators.
The actor said that he does not wish to see more harm being done to the protesters, adding that everyone has the right to express their ideas and opinions freely.
Additionally, the actor expressed that he hoped everyone will get along again in the future.
Tsang also added that he doubts that the police would open-fire at the citizens, but he is more afraid that terrorist groups would take the opportunity to infiltrate.
The actor says that he is convinced that the demonstrator, particularly the students, are not aiming for violence as they would just raise their arms to show that they are there for a peaceful protest.
When asked whether the Hong Kong Performing Artiste's Guild will be monitoring the protests, Tsang stated that every member of the organization have their own views and differences regarding the matter which means that the Guild will not be releasing any official statement to state their side or opinions regarding the protests.
Other celebrities, including 'Line Walker' star Charmaine Sheh and Jaime Chik have also expressed their shock when the police used aggressive tactics on the protesters.
