The latest music video of Maroon 5 featuring the husband and wife frontman Adam Levine and Victoria's Secret Supermodel Behati Prinsloo has been slammed not only by rape victim groups but also the fans of the band.

According to the rape victim groups, the blood-covered sex scenes shown in the video it not even the most disturbing part but it's Adam actually stalking Behati without her being knowledgeable about it. The groups added that the video "glorifies rape".

The groups noted that it is sending a dangerous message to criminals out there. According to Rape, Abuse, Incest National network, they are not very happy about the ending of the video and that stalking should never be confused with romance because it is not a criminal act.

Basically, the video shows Adam taking photos of the woman he fantasizes about and even creeps into her apartment to watch her sleep. Adam is this butcher at a meat shop where he first saw Behati then became obsessed about her watching her every move mirroring the lyrics of the song.  

The National Sexual Violence Resource Center also released a statement about the video saying Adam treats his own wife "like a piece of meat".

As for the fans of the group, Twitterverse has exploded with so many comments about it. Read some below:

@EWWfan 5 wrote, "@gogreen18 PLEASE make a video speaking out against Maroon 5's disturbing new song Animals. It promotes rape & murder culture against women."

A certain Rebecca Gray tweeted: "Anyone ganna acknowledge the fact that Maroon 5's - Animal is basically the psychosis of a stalker?"

David also announced his opinion saying," Just saw Maroon 5's video for 'Animals'. The idea of millions of little girls seeing that is disturbing and gross. #Maroon5animals".

Maroon 5 is yet to comment on the statements released by outraged groups and their fans.
