Jennifer Love Hewitt Makes Debut In "Criminal Minds" Season Premiere

Jennifer Love Hewitt joins "Criminal Minds" as the Behavioral Analysis Unit's newest top agent, Kate Callahan. Hewitt made her official debut during the season 10 premiere of the series.

Hewitt's character, whose personality and secrets will be revealed as the season progresses, will be filling in the vacancy in the group after Dr. Alex Blake, portrayed by Jeanne Triplehorn, leaves the BAU.

Callahan's first case with the BAU revolves around 

A couple of curveballs were thrown during the episode, including Callahan's relationship with a young girl who one would immediately assume was her daughter - that is, until they exchange "I love you's" and the girl simply refers to her as "Kate". The way the scene was featured seems to hint at the fact that Callahan may be hiding some secrets of her own.

The episode also ends with a group of men buying and selling young girls and the realization that the unsub the team was searching for managed to escape. This revelations will certainly be brought up and cause further problems for the team in future episodes.

Before stepping onto the set of the said series, Hewitt shared that the role of Kate Callahan was offered to her by executive producer Erica Messer when she just became a new mom. Messer shared the role was perfect for her and, shared that she was glad to take on the challege.

Hewitt admitted though that joining the already-formed cast made her feel like she did when she joined "Party of Five".

"It was a little scary. I haven't really done that since Party of Five, where I sort of join something already in progress," she shared.

However, the former "Ghost Whisperer" star admitted that being back with CBS does give her some sense of familiarity. She shared that she felt that she was rejoining her family.
