Although Oscar-winning actor Matthew McConaughey won't be reprising his role of Dallas in "Magic Mike XXL", there are certainly new cast members who might be able to fill the void.

Newcomers to the strip joint are Elizabeth Banks of "The Hunger Games" fame, "Community" actor Donald Glover "Live with Kelly and Michael" host and NFL superstar Michael Strahan, "Gotham" actress Jada Pinkett Smith, "Drive Angry" star Amber Heard and Andie MacDowell of "Cedar Cove" fame.

Cody Horn, who played Channing Tatum's girlfriend in the first flick, and Alex Pettyfer, who portrayed Tatum's brother Adam, won't be joining the sequel.

As for the official synopsis, the story is basically a road trip, taking place three years after Mike decided to leave the stripping game. The studio writes, "Magic Mike XXL" finds the remaining Kings of Tampa likewise ready to throw in the towel. But they want to do it their way: burning down the house in one last blow-out performance in Myrtle Beach, and with legendary headliner Magic Mike sharing the spotlight with them. On the road to their final show, with whistle stops in Jacksonville and Savannah to renew old acquaintances and make new friends, Mike and the guys learn some new moves and shake off the past in surprising ways."

Tatum will be joined by the veteran strippers who were part of his team, portrayed by actors Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello, Kevin Nash, and Adam Rodriguez.

It seems that "Magic Mike XXL" will be a dramedy of sorts, wherein the emotional baggage of the main team of male strippers sort out their issues before their final hurrah onstage.

Reid Carolin will return as the scriptwriter of the flick, while Gregory Jacobs will be taking the helm as director.

"Magic Mike XXL", produced by Warner Bros., is scheduled to open in U.S. cinemas on July 1, 2015.
