16 years ago, Britney, 16 at that time, debuted her single after graduating from the Mickey Mouse Club. The release of the single's iconic music video made Britney Spears skyrocket into fame and land the hearts of so many young fans.

The music video features a fluffy pigtailed school girl Britney who dances her way out of class, into the hallway, with a costume change that leads her right at the school gym, where she and some classmates dance to the beat of the song.

A fun fact about the music video is that Britney Spears' cousin, Chad Spears, former Abercrombie & Fitch model, played the role of her love interest in the video!

"... Baby One More Time" was not only Britney's ticket to becoming a household name, but it also went on to reach the number 1 spot in the United States and in various other countries around the globe. It sold more than 10 million copies in the U.S. alone, and went platinum 14 times. Internationally, the album of the same namesake has sold over 30 million copies.

Ever since the big success in 1998, Britney has come up with eight other studio albums, a lot of them breaking record sales and topping musical charts. She has been named as part of the top ten top-selling female artists in the U.S., selling more than 100 million albums in her 16-year career.
