The 9-time French Open winner will now face Slovakian Qualifier Martin Klizan who won over seventh seed Ernests Gulbis after retiring the match at 0-3 in the second set.
Third seeded Berdych also had a relatively easy matchup against Serbian wild card Viktor Troicki 6-3 6-4 and sets up a confrontation against eighth seeded American John Isner.
The 29-year-old Czech is eighth in the current list of players who are vying to compete at the year-ending WTA World Tour Finals which will be held in London this November.
Berdych is just 15 points behind David Ferrer and with his quarterfinals appearance; he had already surpassed the Spaniard that might be enough to land him a spot at the prestigious event.
Meantime, Grigor Dimitrov is in 11th place and has a slim chance of making it into the eight-man short list.
Even though Dimitrov has advanced to the quarters after defeating Andujar 6-4 6-4, he has a mountain to climb as he faces World No. 1 Djokovic next.
If the heavens are smiling at the 23-year-old Bulgarian and he wins the tournament, then and then he might be able to make it to London.
The tournament is packed with top seeded players as Britain's No. 1 Andy Murray just won his second round match against Pablo Cuevas of Uruguay 6-2 6-2.
The recent Shenzhen Open champion Murray will face the winner of the match between Marin Cilic and Joao Sousa.
U.S. Open champion Cilic is currently up by a set against Portugal's Sausa in their second round matchup as of press time.
