Facebook has seen in a bad light due to its policy that only real names should be seen on all profiles, causing dismay among the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) community.
According to reports, Facebook and LGBT representatives have talked and the social networking company has apologized about it.

The apology was a lengthy statement from Chris Cox, Facebook chief product officer. In the statement, Facebook said it would fix the "real name" policy to make it beneficial for the users but didn't outline specifics.
Cox noted the policy was launched 10 years ago, however. It was only recently users were required to display their legal names.
Cox admitted that Facebook was blindsided by their implementation and the backlash caused by the complaining community was a shock to them. Drag queens, most specifically, were hit by this policy.
Some filed complaints after they logged out after they were forced to use their given names to gain access to the site again.
Sister Roma, the drag queen who openly complained about the policy, released a statement to update his supporters about the cause they're fighting for.
Sister Roma said the meeting with Facebook was very productive. She also said the community is all excited to work with Facebook to address their concerns, as well as meet Facebok halfway.
The complaint was also supported by San Francisco city officials.
