Lynsey de Paul Dies of Brain Hemorrhage at 64

English veteran pop artist Lynsey de Paul passed away last Wednesday morning, October 1, 2014, after suffering from a brain hemorrhage. She was 64 years old.
De Paul, who is the very first woman to win the Ivor Novello songwriting award, has passed away at a London hospital last October 1 after suffering from complications brought about by brain hemorrhage.

According to a media outlet, her niece, Olivia Rubin, Stated that the singer's death was unexpected, saying that de Paul was a vegetarian who didn't smoke or drink.
Several artists have paid their tributes to the British pop singer. Barry Blue, her long-time songwriting partner, has taken to Twitter to express his sorrow over the loss of de Paul, writing, "I can't really take this tragic news in. We were like brother and sister for over 40 years. I have lost a true friend. RIP Lynsey."
De Paul, who is also a Eurovision contestant, was praised by her friend and broadcaster Esther Rantzen, saying, "She is a renaissance woman," adding that she could sing, compose and is an immensely talented artist.
"She was a loyal and generous friend," Rantzen says. "It's an absolutely tragic loss."
As for her career, de Paul became famous in the 1970s with her song 'Sugar Me' making its debut at the top of the chart in 1972.
Other songs by the late pop veteran includes 'Won't Somebody Dance With Me', the song that got her the Ivor Novello award. The singer won another award for her 1974 song 'No Honestly' which is the theme song to the sitcom that goes with the same title.
In 1977, she represented the UK for the Eurovision Song Contest and won second place for performing 'Rock Bottom'.
De Paul continued with her career, collaborating with artists including 'Gold Finger' hit maker Dame Shirley Bassey and The Real Thing. Later in her career, de Paul worked on TV, classical music and acted in the TV show called 'Kingdom' along with Stephen Fry.
De Paul has dated the Beatles drummer Ringgo Star, former Bond actor Sean Connery and Dudley Moore, but has never married.
