Amid worldwide expressions of concern, grief and sympathy over the still unknown fate of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370, an air traffic control operator from Guangzhou, China has created a message which he hopes would reach the missing plane wherever it may be.

Weibo user "Ray-ATC" posted the heartrending message on China's micro-blogging platform on Saturday where it has since been shared more than a hundred thousand times.

The message read:

"Malaysian Airlines Flight MH370, the air traffic control radar hopes to see you.

If you can hear this, please maintain your current altitude, and proceed directly to your destination.

Know that we have applied for a direct route for you, and other kind-hearted flights will accommodate by giving way to you. Everyone is willing to let you be the first to land.

The weather for your route is currently sunny and cloudless, with the air temperature at your destination, Beijing, being 5 degrees, a little cold, so dress warmly when disembarking.

Remember to hug the friends and family who have come to pick you up, because they love you very much. Good day."

A video version of the message has been produced and posted on youku.com.

Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 went missing at dawn on Saturday just two hours into its flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. It was carrying 227 passengers and 12 crew members from 14 different countries, most of them Chinese citizens.

More than 48 hours after it mysteriously vanished in mid-air, investigators and search teams were nowhere close to finding out what happened to the Boeing 777-200 aircraft.
