The 33-year-old Mukpo will be brought directly to the treatment facility as soon as he arrives in Omaha on Monday.
The medical center facilty treated Dr. Richard Sacra after he tested positive for Ebola in September.
"We are ready, willing and able to care for this patient," according to the facility's biocontainment unit director, Dr. Phil Smith.
In a statement released by Dr. Qangela Hewlett, the biocontainment unit's associate medical director said that the facility's experience in treating Sacra would be beneficial in treating the new patient.
She added that because of the first Ebola case they have dealt with, the center has developed new methods in containing and treating the disease.
One new method they implemented was the creation of a lab testing unit in the isolation area, so the patient's blood can be tested inside the room, without the need to transport to other areas in the facility.
The news of Mukpo's transfer came following his mother's interview, recounting how she found out that her son was sick.
Mukpo's mother, Diana, told the ABC News that her husband called her in the middle of the night to tell her that her son was sick.
"I immediately knew what that meant'" she said.
The family has since coordinated with the State Department and had shared the plans of transporting her son back to the United States on Sunday.
According to Diana, her son was "relieved" that he will be brought back to the U.S. for optimum medical care.
The United States has only four biocontainment units, one of which is the Nebraska Medical Center.
