Now on its fourth week, the hunt for the accused cop killer continues in Pennsylvania as investigators suggest that the colder weather and lack of food would soon force him out from hiding.
Lt. Col. George Bivens from the Pennsylvania State Police told reporters that the team looking for self-taught survivalist Eric Frein had confiscated caches of food and a huge bulk of ammunition believed to be stashed by the 31-year-old suspect along the dense wooded area in the Pocono Mountains.

Frein, described as a marksman who is believed to have a grudge against law enforcers, is suspect for an ambush in a trooper barracks in Pennsylvania, killing Corporal Bryon Dickson and gravely wounding Trooper Alex Douglass on September 12.
Since then, a hunt had been launched to capture the 'cop-hating' survivalists who had so far evaded justice for nearly a month.
Authorities stated that trapping Frein inside a police perimeter had become difficult due to the thickly wooded terrain.
"You could literally walk right past someone, in some of this terrain, and not see them unless you stepped on them," Bivens explained.
Searchers had several close encounters with the elusive suspect for the past weeks and discovered traces that he left behind including discarded clothes, packages and some explosive devices.
They also searched abandoned cabins and trash bins as police believe that Frein, who has survived mainly on canned tuna and ramen noodles, is running out of food.
As rain is expected to come in the area, authorities on the hunt for Frein are counting on the drop of temperature to finally flush the alleged murderer out from hiding.
While they are confident that Frein will soon be exposed from his hiding spot, authorities are also looking into requesting assistance from his family through a public appeal to their son.
